Diana Dabinett – On the Edge

“Inspired by visits to the challenging geological terrain of Iceland, Death Valley California and Newfoundland, where resilient plants survive against great difficulty in such harsh environments, I developed this new body of work over the past two years. Plants seem so fragile yet they thrive in the cold glacial inland of Iceland, in the desert of Death Valley which is below sea level and on the Tablelands peridotite, the granites of Fogo Island or Burnt Cape limestones of Newfoundland in awe inspiring profusion. All of these works are painted in acrylics on canvas.”
