My training is in the school of the nineteenth century classical academies and my interests are in using that formal training, with its emphasis on understanding the human figure, to explore contemporary issues and states of mind. i keep in mind the psychological narrative that may appear within and between the subjects of my painting. Often this Psychological component becomes paramount.
I have been exhibiting my work over the past decade throughout Canada and I have also had solo shows in the United States and London England. I was included in the Bp portrait prize at the National Gallery of London in 2005 and was also selected for a show in New York this past summer juried by Eric Fichl Vincent Desiderio and Jenny Saville.
